About Melur

Melur is a municipality located at the northern side of Madurai. While travelling from Madurai to Melur at Othakadai, we can see the famous Yaanaimalai or Aanaimalai, where Jain statues and stone beds for Jain saints are present. Aanaimalai is also famous for Yoga Narasimhar Temple and Thirumohoor Kalamegaperumal temple. Granites are carved out of Yanaimalai and it is exported all around the world through Melur, thus making granite business a leading income source for Melur. Another major occupation in Melur is agriculture and most of them are involved in cultivating rice. Melur is the biggest municipality among the 3 municipalities under Madurai district. Total population is more than 40,000 and it also acts a main connecting point for Trichy, another major district in Tamil Nadu. The world famous Azhagar Kovil also comes under Melur Taluk.

Melur is agricultural region. The region produce various agricultural products. Includes rice, millets, cotton and sugarcane. The region is hub for traditional textile production. Includes sarees and dhotis. Agricultural college of research is located in melur. As per the information there is no UI-UX designing classes in melur. Aspiring UI-UX designers from Melur will have to travel to Madurai to study UI-UX designing which is 30 km form melur and can reach with 40 to 50 minutes of travel by bus.
